Sarah & The Underground are an established, independent trio that call the beautiful city of Peoria, Illinois their headquarters. You may catch them in the back of a dive bar, in a 2,000 seat theater or at home on your television screen or favorite radio station. This youthful but seasoned trio specializes in what they've come to refer to as "SoulFolk with a twist of Jazz!" Songwriter Sarah Marie Dillard offers original compositions inspired by all things Illinois, touching on topics including the Greater Peoria music industry and the coal mines and farmland of Hanna City. Upright bassist Brandon Mooberry and drummer/percussionist Nick Fairley join Sarah in skillfully referencing Peoria's Jazz and Folk roots with frequent nods to Peoria's thriving jam scene. The sound that’s attracted thousands of listeners across the Midwest is best described as a big sip of warm, dark whiskey for the ears, so it's no wonder this group has taken root here in The Whiskey City. Sarah & The Underground definitely "plays in Peoria!"

Since forming in 2016 Sarah & The Underground have shared the stage with Kevin Costner & Modern West, David Hoffman (Ray Charles Orchestra), The Accidentals, Good Morning Bedlam, former WWE on-screen personality Josiah Williams, two-time American flat-picking champion Andy Hatfield, The Way Down Wanderers, Steady Flow, Chicago Farmer, Harvest Sons, Still Shine, Tim Brickner & Mike Nellas (Matthew Curry Band), Tim Harr (Stone Cold Cowboys) and Courtez Banks (Dexter O’Neal and the Funk Yard) as well as Peoria-based streaming sensations Emily The Band.
